It all begins with an idea.
Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Hi…Here’s my STORY and I AM still EVOLVING………..
Thank you for visiting our website. We are family owned and operated and have been for 30 years. Our company was founded in 1996 by Sonja M. Palmer. As a child, I was involved in multiple sports, such as gymnastics, cheerleading, tumbling, dance, soft ball, track and field, basket ball and competitive bowling, I have a “true” love for all sports. Our family was even trained in pool, yes, 8 ball and 9 ball.
The physical body must stay in motion to reach its full potiental. AIM -Keep your Athlete’s In Motion. The mind and body are comprehensive, both need to continue to be challenged and must remain active.
Doing multiple sports as a child I realized I needed movement. Starting in gymnastics at age 6 created a LOVE for SPORTS that is still today very alive and active.
I was born and raised in Shreveport Louisiana and I began my active life of gymnastics at Towers Gymnastics. Do to its location, I had to move gyms because we could not do such long traveling. I then continued recreational gymnastics at Jill’s Gymnastics, and also attending tumbling at Shreveport Olympiad.
Age 6 was a Fabulous age for me!
I began game day cheerleading and competitive Cheerleading for the Brookwood Cheeleading Association through the age of 12 while still actively tumbling. We cheered for the football team at Forest Hills Elementary and competed at local events in the Shreveport area during our off season. Jr. High was amazing, I was able to try out for cheerleader at Ridgewood Middle School and I cheered there my 8th grade year and played basket ball, took dance, as well as I did track and field.
My High School Years…..
“The Best” yes, I was able to do pep squad for Woodlawn High School for 2 years and I competitively cheered for the Shreveport All-Stars! The Shreveport All-Stars hosted by Jills Gymnastics was the FIRST competitive cheerleading team in Shreveport Louisiana. I cheeread for Woodlawn High School my junior and senior year where I was the co-captain my junior year and the captain my senior year.
College….
What A Experience! I did (2) Colligate Sports….As a freshman attending Northwestern State University where I cheered for (3) years and I did the Northwestern State Purple Pizzazz Pom Line (1) year. Upon graduation I knew I wanted to be a Coach, as my senior year was coming to an end, I was approached with an opportunity to own a gym. Well……I decided I must graduate so I could start this career. The offer of owning my own gym made me immediately changed to General Studies so that I could begin my coaching career. In college my undergraduate years focused on the anatomy, psychology, and sociology, so Nursing was ny first choice but then changed to OT/PT…..I love learning about physcial movement. Even though I did not get my degree in OT/PT I am still practicing it today through the Love of Coaching.
22 years Old
I started coaching at a gym as an assistant at the age of 12, fast forward 10 years and I open Elite Cheer-Nastics, Incorporated at the age of 22. Again, I was very young when I realized it was a Dream for me to Coach, and I am Thankful to the Good Lord! He saw my dreams and HE made them come true. Diligence is the key, do not stop persuing your DREAM, and continue your relationship with God so he can help your IDEAS and DREAMS come true. It’s now 2026 and I am still coaching what I love!
Its not Work when you Do What You Love EVERYDAY……
Its been 30 wonderful, challenging, difficult, but amazing years! There are days when I do not feel like coaching or going to work. I know you know what I mean……but nothing is EASY….
Stay the course, Stay consistent, Be Resilent, God’s plan is always better then ours. My children have tried multiple sports and took classes at Elite Cheer-Nastics up until the ages of 13 and 18. They have both coached within this program on and off. I believe teaching them the importance of academics and sports made them who they are today, along with consistent prayer.
Thank you to God, my parents for believing in me, my husband and children for so many years of support, and the Natchitoches community for so many wonderful years! I am a living proof you can
Dream it, Build it, and Grow it!
Sincerely, I thank you!
