tumbling Level 1
Brief progression of skills
Tumbling Level 1
Our Tumbling Level 1 class focuses on introducing basic tumbling skills on the floor and trampoline. Key skills covered include:
Forward Roll (FR): Rolling forward from a standing position, with the child tucking their head and rolling smoothly on the floor.
Back Roll (BKR): Rolling backward from a standing position, starting with a tuck and ending in a seated or standing position.
Handstand (Hd Std): Balancing on the hands with legs extended upward, creating a vertical position with the head off the ground.
Cartwheel (Crt Whl): A sideways rotary movement where the hands and feet touch the ground alternately, creating a wheel-like motion.
Tables: Balancing on hands and feet, resembling a table position, or also called a crab walk position.
Bridges: An arching position where the child supports their weight on their hands and feet, lifting their torso and hips off the ground.
Tic-Toc Drills: Drills focusing on control and flexibility in leg movements, this is for
Levers: Balancing on one foot with a straight body and legs.
Log Rolls: Rolling on the floor with a straight body position, or a wedge.
Standing Back Bend (Std BK BD): A backward arch that creates a bend from a standing position.
Kickover (KO): Kicking legs over from a bridge position.
Round off: (RO): a skill similar to a cartwheel, except it moves through a hand stand and lands on two feet simultaneously, and it is facing the direction of the run.
Tumbling Level 2
Advancing from Tumble 1, this class focuses on more intermediate tumbling skills and progressions:
All skills from level 1 and add these skills
Front Walkover (FWO): A forward movement into a handstand with the legs split overhead and hands touching the ground, and landing one foot at a time.
Back Walkover (BWO): A backward movement though a handstand where hands touch the ground and legs extend overhead in a split position and the feet land at different times.
Back Handspring (BHS): a full back handspring, involves a backward rotation into a handstand position landing on the hands and snapping down to two feet.
Round off Back Handspring and add series of (BHS) : a full back handspring, involving backward rotation on hands and feet., snapping down quickly to add multiples.
This class builds on foundational tumbling skills, preparing students for more advanced techniques on the floor , trampoline., and other apparatus.

Brief overview of progressive Tumbling Skills
Advancing from 2 to 4 in tumbling skills. Mastering every level is the key.
Back Handspring (BHS): Full execution of the backward rotation on hands and feet.
Front Handspring (FHS): Forward rotation where hands touch the body moves through a handstand and the legs are split and the hands touch the ground and feet land one at a time.
Back Handspring Series (BHS Series): Series of connected back handsprings.
Round-Off Back Handspring (RO BHS): Combination of a round-off followed by a back handspring.
Back Walkover (BWO): Advanced version with more control and fluidity.
Front Walkover (FWO): More refined and controlled front walkover.

Fly Springs (FS): Front handspring with a two-foot entry take off, moving through a hand stand to land on both feet.
Valdez (V): Combination of a back walk over sitting and doing a one arm bridge, it involves lifting the hips and rotating the body while extending one are and leg.
Aerials: Front and Side these skills are taught by drills and skills and are no handed cartwheels, and no handed front walk-overs
Standing Back Tuck (BT): Jump to a set-up with the arms above the head in a straight position while keeping the head neutral execute Full back flip in a tuck position, making sure knees are tuck tight near the belly button.

Back Handspring to Back Tuck (BHS BT): Combination of a back handspring leading directly into a back tuck.
Round-Off Back Tuck (RO BT): Combination of a round-off followed by a back tuck.
Layout (LO): Front and Back flip in a straight body position, More refined and controlled in a straight body position
Full Twisting Layout (FTL): its the refined and controlled layout and then adding a full 360 twist, body needs to stay tight so rotation happens naturally.
Arabian (A): is a backflip with a 1/2 twist/turn to a front tuck in the air, can be also be incorporated into dismounts from apparatus
